"Sylvie and Pascal prepared dinners for twelve of us during our one-week stay outside Bordeaux. One of the dinners was a special wine and food pairing with Pascal giving very interesting commentary on the background and history of the region with special attention to food and wine. He is a wonderful speaker and this was a highlight of our week.
Above all, Sylvie and Pascal were responsive to our wishes and needs. Three people in our group had dietary restrictions, and they always offered that person a tasty alternative, while still providing the dish in question for the rest of us. When we asked for a light meal, they responded appropriately. In one case they substituted freshly gathered picked strawberries from a neighbour’s garden, with red wine, for a heavier dessert. All the dishes were tasty, appetising, varied, made of locally sourced ingredients, and pleasing to the eye.
Our final dinner featuring foie gras and confit de canard was especially memorable. I loved the sauces
and condiments served alongside the main courses.
Sylvie and Pascal are delightful people, very good company, and they added immeasurably to our visit, helping us understand the region and history. Their backgrounds as artists and singers greatly add to their charm."
